IIRC the drains run down into the compartments behind the wheel wells then out......I had to replace both seals....and have since had to buy a new gear box from Ebay...which is sitting in my shop waiting until I have enough time to install....the guys suggesting weed wacker string are on the money....I have not used air but have heard stories of people who did winding up having to take the entire interior apart to re-connect the drains after the air had seperated the hoses......I forgot that the 83's were manual!!! Even without the roof closed tight, the new seal got rid of my puddle on the back seat!

Good luck!

Well, I ran the weed wacker line through the drains. There was a little bit of stuff in the rear passenger-side one (where the water is), plus the hose was crimped. Actually, that's probably how the crap built up in the line. Anyway, it seems nice and clear now. Thanks for saving me at least $20!
