Default warm idle stalling - help

Hi, I'm looking for some help with my 86' 944. When warm it stalls after idling for more than about 30 seconds.

I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator. I have cleaned the idle stabilizer valve (I also have a clean used ISV - does not help to put it in instead). All the vacuum lines look good. The air box seems to operate o.k. After it stalls I can feel the ISV vibrating. It's a little hard to start after it stalls. When cold it runs perfictly fine. As it warms up I start to get a few misses at idle. After it's warms though it's very sluggish of the line and just dies

sounds like a bad temp sender, the one on the block, the one with the bosch style plug. The manual describes a bad temp sender as your exact symptoms. There's an ohm test for cold, warming and hot. I don't have the specs in front of me sorry. Sounds like the issue tho. Double check to see that it is plugged in and tight.

Following the suggestion of Andy, try hooking a voltmeter to it, and monitor the voltage. On mine (1983 model) it's about 0.80V on hot engine, and more when not fully warmed up.

If you have an O2 sensor, unplug it at the rear of the engine bay, see if the mis on idle goes away, that cured mine.
