ok. Thanks a bunch guys!!

[QOUTE]You should have the fuel pump by noon tomorrow, sorry about the delay.[QUOTE]

No problem.....it's snowing again...and we don't have much of a garage anymore. This work will most likey happen in a few weeks when this cold weather passes, hopefully.

6 degrees makes 'em run real happy, as long at you don't get any pinging - mainly a question of how much deposits are built up, they'll take it better when the inside is cleaned out. A little bit more octane doesn't hurt either.

The pump change shouldn't really affect the mixture any more than, say, changing the fuel filter, since as you suspect it is regulated. The output pressure is so much higher than the control and system pressures. Usually by the time a pump has trouble putting out that much pressure, it's pretty much dead.

hi everyone!

sorry to ressurect an old thread but:

we got her running but she just keeps dying. Then we noticed that the mixture screw was basically backed all the way out.

Does anyone know a good starting point of where the screw should be. Like, "set screw to 2 turns out and then adjust from there"

I'll post on 924.org as well..but there isn't much traffic!

Not much traffic? Are you going to the right board? www.924board.org

Anyway - base setting is to unscrew it until fuel just starts to come out of one of the ports. So you've got to remove one of the lines (going to the cylinders), obviously screw it in somewhere past where it currently is, run the fuel pump (usually by jumpering the fuel pump relay) and back the mixture screw out until fuel just starts to come out of the open port.

Once you reach this point, you can reattach the line, it should fire right up and be close enough to allow tuning.
