Hobbyist Plate Info
Hello everyone, I have a question about Wisconsin Hobbyist Plates.
My friend Paul (rennlist: 944t4me) was offered collector plates a the DMV for his 1986 944 Turbo in 2002. I am curious why this is, because the car is not 20 years old and the rules seem explicit that the car must be 20 years old.
Hobbyist plates are similar, except they apply to "reconstructed" or "great than 20 year old with extensive modifications" vehicles, whereas the collector's plates are only for relatively stock vehicles. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this, as I don't use my 951 as a daily driver and would love to have it permanently registered for 110 dollars. I also would get killer rates on insurance.
Thanks, Evan

Evan, you can usually do this with about any car, you are just limited to only being about to drive it under a certain mileage every year.... not sure if you want to do that.
