Default Quick help needed with installing a voltage regulator

I'm having trouble putting this thing into the alternator. I don't want to force it, but it the "springy" contacts seem to be on the way.
Any tips?
Thanks

Slide it in first and get it flush with the back of the alternator. Then slide it straight up until you can get the screws in, thus you'll be compressing the springs straight in when you put pressure on them.

It's a LOT easier with the alternator sitting in your lap. Well worth the time to remove the alternator.

Thanks, I managed without remving the alternator, but it wasn't easy. Turned out that the voltage regulator didn't fit the alternator. Had to file a bit both. I quickly checked with the old alternator, and the fit was fine. The rebuilt alternator that I have now must have been from a different car...
