Default 924 turbo engine in a "normal" 924

This week end in a classic cars meeting I met a guy who has a 924 turbo that fell from a trailer so it is badly wrecked in the rear area.

He offered me its engine, gearbox and other parts.

I am in doubt because my car is very good in the engine department and it´s an european one with very healthy 125 HPs.

The wrecked turbo is an american version with "only" 145 hp so I will only benefit with 20 hp for a lot of work and money.

I will like to hear your advice in this matter...

Kike, the 931 engines are also notoriously problematic.

For instance, the turbo was on the exhaust side and didn't have the auxiliary cooling circuit that the 951 does.

I agree that it's not worth the effort.

Why the hell not?

Sure it's only 20 extra h.p. stock, but a turbo engine is easily modded. You could end up with a VERY formidable track car when done. . .

Thank you both for the quick answer, I was waiting to buy a 951 but finally I couldn't sell my 924 in time and the car went to another buyer.
These cars are very rare here, the odd part is that the man with the wrecked 924 turbo got to buy another one in a week from the wife of an man with Alzheimer disease.
That in a city much smaller than Buenos Aires.I saw that one and it's almost new with 20.000 kms (some guys have all the luck)
