Default Technical: Injector part no. conspiracy theory?

There's a guy selling Bosch fuel injectors for 944s that have OEM Chrysler part numbers, but he claims they are all the same Bosch part with just a bit of "badge engineering". Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Specifically, he claims the injectors following Bosch injectors are the same part and therefore completely interchangable:

BOSCH O.E. #'s 0 280 150 158, 201, 352, 360, 364, 811, 900

Now, a quick check of the Paragon parts list shows

0 280 150 158 is the 944 85->88 part
0 280 150 201 is the 944 83->85.1 part
0 280 150 811 is the 944 S2 89->90 part

The new prices for these parts vary considerably: Paragon's prices are $80.47, $99.20 and $143.97 respectively.

But according to this eBayer's claim, the spare set of injectors I still have from my 86 NA will fit my 89 S2. This seems too good to believe (but I want to believe...); anyone know what's going on?

I'm not sure but when I was replacing my fuel rail I noticed that my injectors had "FORD" printed on them! Sounds fishy to me....

When in doubt here's a great referance for fuel injectors. For the 3 porsche injectors the flow rates are different (21.8lbs/hr, 22.5lbs/hr, and 28.35lbs/hr) The site doesn't have data for the chrysler ones but it does list some of them as being used in the porsche 2.5L 4 cylinder motor.

Good reference.

What part of the injector actually determines the flow rate? Anyone know? I'm wondering whether it's something simple like the plastic caps that form the seal to the fuel rail... I notice in the picture this guy has of the injectors he sells on his web page, the caps appear to be missing...

so stock injectors only flow 21.8 lbs/hr, wow, after all teh 76lbs injector talk, i though stock would be a tad higher. 3.5x seems like a pretty big jump in fuel O.o

The part that actually determines the flow rate is probably the size of the internal body and the little pin at the tip.
