can it only fit a 85.5 and higher or will it be ok for an 83?

Pretty sure the mapping is different on the early cars, 85.5 and before

1985.5 Porsche 944's are usually considered late model 944's. I'm pretty sure that chip Rock is selling would fit just fine on a 1985.5. I'll buy the chip right now if no one else has bought it yet.

I have been looking for one for quite some time now. I should really check this place more often. I have an 83' 944 and if this chip is compatible (seems like there is a little confusion here) I would be more than happy to purchase it.
