hmmm, actually i already have it off, and the injectors are off.

how bout painting it, i have some hi-temp black paint. Shouldnt i sand it first in that sense to remove any residue. would i need to plug the holes? what could i use, paper towel? ...

That should work. Several people on here have painted it.

well, i got all the pieces off, btw, a little sanding takes the crap and the bronze finish right off, and it leaves the metal very shiney. I would go over it again with very fine grit if i were going to leave it as metal tho, but im painting it black. the header will be beige like my interior. the black is accent color.

Hey it sounds like a stupid idea but in a controlled situation it is a perfectly acceptable way to get rid of a little bit of extra fuel. I know you guys will probably frown on this or flame me for this later but I have done it many times and normally with more than a few oz. of fuel.

I tried painting, and I sanded the thing first, but the paint doesnt grip the surface, its like tring to paint wet glass or something. Is there something more i need to do to prep the surface? primer?

thanks

Did you fix the leak in the rail?

Put any fuel you collect back in your gas tank. If it's got dirt in it, run it through a coffee filter. Takes a while, but gets all the junk out.

Sand it down, get some prep solvent or at least some degreaser and then try again.

I was thinking of powder coating or epoxy paint dipping my old rail to see if it would cease leaking.. Maybe pressurizing the rail with ceramic inside to seal it- any thoughts?

I think welding is the only way to fix it.
