That is why I heated, pushed and pulled mine back to shape...
OT - I am in Augusta and my car is now legal/safe to be on the road, any roads around the CSRA are worth the drive?

I've got one with some minor scrapes on it, and one of the mounting holes needs repairing. It's in quite good shape other than the few things it needs, would clean up easy for paint.
shoot me an email jg@proctrl.com and I'll get you some pictures and a price tonight.

You can get a new one for 500 from performance products. It's an aftermarket replica and is guaranteed to be more durable.

I had a number of bends around the bolt holes and in the front under the side marker light. I took a Mapp gas torch and heated the area up (burnt the paint on both sides). Using thick winter gloves I would push/pull and hold the plastic till it cooled (I used a cold beer can to cool gloves/finger tip). I had the most success leveling out the bolt holes at the top. The deformation under the side marker light improved, but is not back to 100%. The front of the car had taken a minor hit befor I got it.

If I'm not mistaken, Ian at 944Online.com sells the front valance new for $300-$400. He'll sell you a used front NA bumper for next to nothing, too.

dealer = open up wallet, get out a few hundreds and just flush them down the toilet....

Yeah, I repaired mine as well. Still holding up strong three years later.

When I was debating replacement v. repair, I remember seeing aftermarket fiberglass ones for under $300. I suppose that's a route you could go, but I wouldn't trust it to not get shattered on road debris or while parking or something.

$800 sounds like a reasonable price for a brand new valence for a 20 year old car, probably not much more than similar parts for lesser cars. Part of the price pays for them keeping it in stock for so long, and their profit. The variation 800-1200 is surprising though.
