No kidding. Honestly, he had me sold on the car before he even mentioned that it was warranted.

I live in a very small, rural, country town. I may get laughed out of town if I call it a Por-sha

Congrats and welcome. The car looks great. It looks like Kalahari Beige maybe?

Very nice car! I call it a porsch infront of friends for fear of becoming a social outcast, and porscha infront of people who know better then to call it a porsch... Good luck with her!

I had to look up Kalahari, but yes, I can see that being the color. Not saying that it is, but it could be

I'll look at the paint code tomorrow. Maybe I can answer everyone's question with that.

I had looked into buying this car 2 years ago when the guy was asking $6k and then again in the last month when I started looking into buying an NA. Cosmetically for a car with over 170K this car looks very clean. The problem I had with it is he had no receipts at all and had done nothing but oil changes in the time he owned it. I had also looked into the warranty he had but it sounded very restrictive so I decided to pass.
I remember from the option codes the 16" wheels were ordered from the factory. Good luck with the car, I hope it all works out for you.

Nice car, I have been eyeing that car on AutoTrader off and on for over a year now. I asked about it on here last year when the owner was asking $6000 I stayed away because of lack of records and the milage. I do have to say that is probably one of the prettiest 944's I have seen. If that car would have been at that price when I bought my BMW if would have jumped all over it also. Anyway great deal and welcome aboard. You will find more useful info here than you can possibly imagine.

One last thing I am glad to see a lister get this car and see how it pans out. I sure hope it turns out to be everything you wanted.

Later, jamie

I am going to contact the warranty company on Monday and see if it applies to me. I would be more concerned about his lack of records, but he only put 8200 miles on it in the little over two years that he owned it. He bought it from a Porsche dealer, and I doubt that they would have sold him something that didn't go through their ten million point inspection.

All that said, I am mapping out what I need for the car, and a water pump and timing belt are near the top of the list (right after tires...they're horrible). But this is indeed a very nice looking car. With a little work, it will be my dream car.

Nice car!

As far as your belts are concerned, if there are any 'listers in your area, I'm sure at least one of them would be willing to help you change the belts, and also have the tools neccesary. It's really not that hard to do! And the belts are only a few Jefferson's anyways - cheap insurance against a $1000 or more head job if you ask me. Have fun!
