drop the tranny, disconnect the fill, vent, and outlet lines, unplug the sender and then unbolt it and then it sort of rolls out towards the rear. This is for an early car, for a late car you do the same thing but you can just remove the cross member and then unbolt the tank and it'll pretty much drop.

Atleast we don't have to worry about the lines and tranny...

That is just sick, twisted, and totally uncalled for Carl.

Not only that, but the "Quality Service" sign on the van in front totally makes the picture!

P.S. Where were all you Louisville 944 fans when I lived there? Back then (mid '90s) all the "cool kids" drove VW GTIs and Corrados. My 83 was considered an older guy's car.

I bought mine at 25 and I'll never forget how many people asked me if it was "my dad's car."

Hey Carl, are they making you remove the tank to send the shell to the shredder?

In the mid 90's I was 9 years old...

Most scrap yards just make you punch a BIG hole in the tank so that they know that it is empty but that is going to differ from one scrap yard to another. In the case of our cars if you stripped it, it is easier to just remove the tank.

Yeah, I get people giving me crap about owning a porsche all the time, but i tell them how it really is my car and they are shocked, I was 9 years old when you lived here as well... 944 was not even a dream of mine yet.....

GTI's and Corrodos are still popular with the local teen crowd.
Sr20 swapped nissans are becoming much more popular though!

Luis, just by chance... did you ever autocross while in louisville?

No, just an outing or two with the local PCA chapter.

The head guy had a really nice 931 and one time I went on a drive in southern Indiana with them, I had worn rear shocks and my 83 did a 180 into a road shoulder. Luckily, it just slid into some tall grass.

I bet that guy still remembers that. I gave Mike W. some shi# for those rear shocks because we had just done the fronts.
