Found this in a post I started a few years back. Does anyone have the data that goes with this picture?

I have a dealer brochure with that pic in it. It was Porsce on Safety IIRC. It didn't note any specifics and there were other types in there too.

That's an extraordinarily nasty crash. Look closely at the roof deforming, the misaligned door, and the fender buckling behind the front wheel. I'd be very interested in seeing the data on this as well.

that was one tuff sign huh?

On a serious note, is that a non sunroof car, I would think with the roof buckling like that, the roof would at least pop up? Also note the late offset front, early rear. I'm looking at it, looks to be a full front hit, not just one side. The whole front of the car took the hit, it had to be damn hard. Maybe a 100mph impact speed?

Why would it have to be that high of speed? a lot of cars crunch way more than that at 35 in those things..

It's probably at 50 or 55mph. 35mph wouldn't do that kind of damage.
The roof doesn't seem to have buckled, but the doors seem displaced. Perhaps it's a bit of an optical illusion?

That actually looks similar to the type of damage on my 87 924S. Complete with roof piller buckling and fender crushing.

That incident happend with my father and an offset frontal collsion with a chevy pick-up. Driver's side fender well was pushed in some too, but my father was uninjured and engine was not damaged at all.

Big airbag! Why would Porsche show a car with wrong rims on it in their literature??
