Default OT: Beware Paypal Scam

Guys I just thought I'd give you a heads up, I just got an e-mail that was supposedly from paypal saying that they flagged my account for a random security check. The e-mail wanted me to click on a link and verify the account by logging in. This e-mail is completely bogus, DO NOT DO IT. Another member here was already a victim of this scam and it wasn't pretty at all. Hope nobody else gets taken by these thieves.

You should wait until he sends you a money order, it will be for more than you are asking, but then you can refund him the rest once his associate(that has been authorized and has been searching) takes delivery of the car

Yeah, I received a very similar e-mail a few weeks back. Funny thing is, it actually looked so legitimate that I almost responded to it. Glad I didn't.

if you get suspect emails from PayPal or eBay forward them to spoof@paypal.com or spoof@ebay.com. You will get a response back letting you know if they were legit or not (most are not). Another one you may get is on that says you made a payment to someone or that a credit card has been added. The give away to most is the link they want you to click takes you to a non PayPal or eBay site and if you look at the properties of the email the sender (not the name displayed as sender) is not a legit email for them...
