I'm at Cleveland Tower and Approach, over at Hopkins, so I talk to very few carriers that don't actually land at Cleveland Hopkins or airports within 30 or 40 miles. . Cleveland Center (ZOB) is about 20 miles west of us, and covers a huge chunk of airspace with 5x the workforce. So, unless you land at CLE, you probably won't hear my chipper voice!

Good luck with Richard Griot. I have a buddy whos tried to get him to sponsor his show car by peddling Griots products at all his car shows. Richard always seems excited but never seems to come through with anything.

If I saved my catalogs from here to the Fest, I could have enough to give one to everybody three times over. I must get one a week and theres really nothing different about each of them other than the cover. I like his stuff I just wish he found some more products to bring forward. 98% of his stuff is re-labeled as Griots other than his cleaning products and he sources products elsewhere so if you REALLY dig hard you can find some of the products for slightly less, but all told most of his stuff is very fringe and low-market and not offered in very many places. Lifetime guarantee on everything.

[QUOTE=UDPride]Good luck with Richard Griot. [QUOTE]

Yea, he's big time and probably gets 100's of letters every year begging for a handout. I see in his catalog they sponsor a few high end events, like the All British Meet in Seattle, the Monterey Speedster Event, their local BMW club event, etc. so it is worth a shot. I bypassed the cheap and easy E-mail approach for the old fashioned letter snail mail approach, maybe that will get me an inside line. Either way, all I lost is the cost of a stamp. I'm sure you get so many catalogs because you are in their top customer tier.

Griot's Car Wash is the best I've tried so far! His cleaning clay didn't work at all for me though.

WooHoo!! I had a box waiting for me when I got home today, from Griot's Garage.. a small contribution to our prize give away! It is a couple of bottles and sprayers of some sort of quick-clean spray, kind of like a waterless wash stuff and the pumps for them. All they ask is I include a link to them on my website! No problem there! Sure, the value is only $30, but it is something, and another step toward filling up my prize table!

I think maybe Mr. Richard was receptive to my pleading because I did up a nice letter and snail-mailed it to him, instead of the more casual e-mail. Maybe he checked out my website, who knows!

Dan you are the consumate product *****. I salute you! Those sprayers are pretty nice. Like $3 a piece. Heavy duty. Red too. I like red. He prob sent Speedshine.

What do I have to do to win a prize this year. You gotta dumb down the criteria a bit. Not all of us are walkin' around with Phds.

Well, UD, last year EVRYONE who showed up in a front engine Porsche got a prize, how tough is that? I'll draw numbers, and the winner gets to come up and pick something off the table. Of course some special items get special attention, such as HPFarm's tools, etc, chances for those were given to all Rennlist MEMBERS present. It was exciting pulling numbers, if the person had a membership #, they won, if they did not previously join they lost out on a $500 prize!! I'm never sure if I have enough stuff for everyone till near the event, but in the past the sponsors really came through. I throw in a few knick knacks myself, this year I think I've got a chrome/powdercoated 951 intake, a turbo rear valance needing some work, a set of 968 MO30 sways, etc. In the past, Travis, John and Jen, Paragon, Winslow all gave me boxes of stuff to pass out. It's a tough job, but somebody has got to do it! Anybody else want to chip in door prizes? There is always room for more! I know a guy with a homeless Saratoga top, what if I sold tickets for $20 a pop and raffled it off to raise Fest funds?

Dan, 20$ a pop is cheap. Well worth it. like a "door prize" for a 20$ admission fee.

EDIT: 8000 posts. time for me to shut up for good.

Chris, please don't. You are loved on here, 98% of the crowd would agree. I was thinking of posting a "who's coming to the Fest" thread and give you a good excuse to crash thru the 8000 barrier. I need you to balance out the negativity.

They are 17's, 8s and 9s. I'm going to try to get Porsche aluminum centers to replace those black plastic ACT caps.
