I have an 87 Turbo, while replacing sunroof gears I had cause to go into fuse box to check fuses for a sunroof related outage, and I inadvertantly checked fuses while ignition was on and somehow after this, OH BOY. Long story made short, sunroof works fine but now have the airbag/exclamation nightmare. I have read about the remedy for 1988 and older 944s in the FAQ but the question is does this work for 1987s and /or how can I reset these idiots?????? Thanks All, Ben in Rye, NY

 

Just curious, is your airbag light on, or is it blinking constantly? I have the latter, and have been trying to reset it to no avail.

 

Sorry about your problem, mine is currently on constantly. Just a short note to tell you of a past horror story, prior case of airbag light stay on resulted in having to replace an entire wiring harness, dealer charge for harness alone is $1300 and Labor is about 8 + hours. I got a harness from a dismantler for $300 and paid a tech $700 to do the swap

 

I will NOT be paying that much to fix my airbags. I'll rip them both out if it comes to it!
