Very nice! I wonder why your car doesn't have the MPG indicator on the instrument cluster. I thought all n/a U.S. spec cars had those. . .

 

very nice. i love the way my S feels zoomy above 4000 rpm. too bad it's not turbo zoominess.

my S does not have the mpg indicator. i think that was only 88 and later. my very first 88 944n/a had one.

 

my 85.5 has the mpg indicator, but i guess it couldve been replaced...

 

me and a friend @ home both had 86s and mine had one, hers didnt. i also thougth it was odd.

My early '85 has it too. Maybe they didn't some on all the U.S. spec cars like I thought. Hmm. Learn somethin' every day.

Heck, my '83 944 has one, though the other cars don't. The 911 didn't get one until '86 or so andI don't think the 928 ever got one.

My 86 has one, but it's in L/100km! I think these only came on a few cars, mine is a Canadian car, and I've seen one on a French car, but that's it. I wonder which years and models and country-specs actually had them?
It's impossible to find aftermarket gauges with that little gauge...

Ive also got a Canadian 1986 944. I dont know what speed im going because of KPH (or care , the faster the better), or the mpg because of the L/100km . Still you must admit for an 1986 a mpg indicator was a sophisticated feature that only some cars have.

 

ha, my S has that stupid little shift light. last time i had the gauge cluster out switching the gauge faces back to black, i taped over the shift light with black electrical tape!!
