Default Another Timing Belt question...

On my new 951, the timing belt was replaced at 119206.. the clock is at 127445 right now, so you would say I'm pretty safe? Except for that the belt was replaced in September of '02... am I in danger?

As long as it was re-tensioned between 1000 and 2000 miles on the belt, no.

I would hope so.. Don't see any records here about it though, will have to double check.

It should be fine. Never hurts to take a look in there though. I use one of those mechanic stethoscopes to listen to each roller/tensioner for noisy bearings (front covers off, engine running of course). Do your records say anything about rollers being replaced?

what i dont like is that the belt hasn't been retensioned in years. you've only gone 8,000 miles but its been 2.5 years. Mileage is a good guide for a daily driver. For the weekend toy, my advice is to inspect the belt and retention once a year.

This is what happened to my knowledge:

PO bought car, had belts done before he even picked up the car.
Timing belt went on the way home... I guess the guy who did the t-belt job didn't replace the rollers, so PO had an full out belt job done, with rollers and whatnot, along with an o-ringed head from SpeedForceRacing

I won't be driving the car for a couple of months more, but I think the first thing I do will be to check out the belts.
