but i must say...it is kind of sad to see another 89 bite the dust...makes finding used parts harder...oh well...next engine mishap i might just have to follow matt olde's idea with the 968 engine swap in his 89

Anyone interested in parts just PM me, I have alot to sell at rennlist prices. You save me from putting it on ebay makes life easier for me and cheaper for buyers.I am sorry to take apart this car as well the 89's are getting rare, all their motors are getting picked up with the very very valuable 2.7 Head. Thanks for any interest in parts I will try to help out with anything you need down to a screw I love Porsche Pet.

Hmmmm...Good to know...I was just about to purchase a 2.5 cover so I could get it powdercoated and pimp out my engine since I have to have the head gasket redone....

[QUOTE=Tom Carson]2’5L head has an oil check valve which was replaced in the 2.7 head with a pressure reducing valve to maintain a constant 3 bar in the camshaft housing ‘in all situations’. the galley opening above this (in the 2.7L cam cover) is almost 10mm larger than the 2.5 cam cover . also the oil channel that this galley feeds (supplying oil to the cam and followers) is 6mm wider than the 2.5L. the casting p/n on the 2.7L cam cover is 944.405.250.8R
Thanks for that info
