surge at idle, coolant leak, o2 sensor, fuel regulator?

[qoute]by steam cleaned spark plugs do you mean white almost????????????
:crys:
mine is doing this same thing.
If my early ('83) 944 has a three wire o2 sensor is it a California car?
I JUST changed the spark plugs and the oil. Plugs seemed very light colored but the oil looked normal..just dark colored because she was due an oil change.
My car IS leaking antifreeze, but it's leaking unto the ground not inside the engine. I HOPE/PRAY. [qoute]
When warm, my idle surges between ~1000-1500 rpm.
Leaking antifreeze to the ground (I should be able to find out where this weekend)
If my car is an early (1983) 944 and has a 3 wire 02 sensor does that mean it's a California car? How else can I determine if my car is a CA emmissions car? (I bought a one wire Bosch o2 sensor today assuming it was the right one, under my car is a 3 wire o2 sensor.)
What else can give me these symptoms?

If the O2 sensor has never been changed in the cars lifetime, its likley that you then have a Cali. emissions car. Early cars ('83-85.5) used a one wire (or non heated) O2 sensor. After '85.5 model cars, all came with a 3-wire sensor.
Where is the car leaking antifreeze from? Its possible one of the hoses may have developed a leak.

ok, so, i've gotten all these answers for possible problems
temp sensors, more specifically head temp, and coolant temp.
throttle position sensor
idle control valve
vacuum leak
thermostat
temp sending unit, temp gauge
my brain is fried, that's about half what I've been told.
yes, my 02 sensor looked very very dirty today and I plan on replacing tomorrow. I just asked to figure out what sensor to buy THIS time, as I ASSUMED it was a one wire sensor. Guess I'll go with a Cali. emissions one.

oh, and i was told maybe cap on the coolant reservoir isn't letting out pressure...I'll get one of those tomorrow too cause they're inexpensive.
oh, and I've tried bleeding air from my coolant system daily.

well, now she won't start, so I can't even go get the right 02 sensor.
I'm gonna get a volt meter from some buddies and i'm gonna spray a little starter fluid in there to see if it'll fire, I think I have a fuel delivery problem.

hmm, so, fuel pressure regulator???
seems to flood itself out, reaks of fuel when it FINALLY (and i mean finally) starts
also, make a funny noise at 3000 rpm, every time, don't know how to describe it, maybe: rattle, chatter, shake, buzz....i dunno
i really would quit bugging you guys w/ questions but, working outta a dorm parking lot w/ very very few tools doesn't leave much possibilities
..............end pityful pity party
