Default Rennlist for BMW's?

My dad has a z3, and recently the "heavy" 18 inches or so of rain in SoCal have penetrated his trunk, and filled it with about 2 gallons of water, almost to the top of the battery. Since then, the radio doesn't play. It turns on, and seems to function, but no sound. I checked the fuses, but I'm not sure where to start, other than tearing the trunk appart with/for him. He's out of town about 6 days a week for a work project, and I think he would be totally excited to see his car fixed when he gets back one of these weekends. So, if you know the answer, or if you know of a forum that isn't full of morons, please point the way. THANKS!

And by the way, I noticed on the Rennlist main page it says this is a place for "Porsche, BMW, and Audi" fans...I looked around pretty good, and sure as heck didn't find any forums that weren't Porsche forums...I didn't miss some huge link somewhere did I?

https://rennlist.com/bmw/

I've never spent any time there, but it is worth a try!

Am I correct in concluding that there is no "forum" for the bimmers? Just some other links and a mailing list, right?

The only forum I found was when I clicked on a "racing" link, and eventually ended up in here!

bimmerforums is pretty good although not quite the camaraderie of rennlist.

also try www.m3forums.com. i haven't been there in a long time, though.

Looks like I got some sound advice at bimmerforums, I'll be investigating the cause of leak (probably the third brake light gasket) and the most-likely damaged factory amp, which is housed in the trunk.

I am a member at bimmerforums and a few others, they all are a joke compared to this list.

I have a 325is and the factory amp is in the trunk, the fuse blew on mine and I replaced it. That would be a good place to check.

Trevor - I take it the fuse for the amp is NOT in the fuse box under the hood? Is it in the amp itself?

Matt - Yah, I figure Rennlist is the best board that will ever exist But one guy over at bimmerforums *did* know where the amp was, and told me the third brake light gasket leaks sometimes. Counts for something I suppose !
