Default New wiring harness??

I can see my project "Piston failure - caution big ugly photo" will be long term. As I disassemble I have all kinds of wire and connectors crumbling in my hands. Is there anywhere I can buy a complete wiring harness, or at least the main components? Thanks!

Also, can someone tell me how to delete a post once my questions are answered. Thanks again.

Man, this must have been a real stupid question.

I've been using 944online for my parts. Ian, Steve and Jamie have treated me real good and give excellent service. I've gotten some weird parts from them, and they always are genuine Porsche unless otherwise stated. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure George at 944 Ecology has some good wiring harnesses. He sold me a few connectors I needed for my wiring harness a few months back. Give him a call and check with the other dismantlers too.

He sold me a great one just before Christmas for $200 (edit:used). He posts here on Rennlist, do a search.

Good luck on the rebuild.

A new harness would cost over $1000, most of it in labor. But the proprietary connectors that Porsche used would cost a pretty penny too. Just get a used one in good condition.

I think eagleday.com has a bunch of the connectors new, and they are pretty pricey.

I built wiring harnesses for aircraft (full redundancy) many years ago and was looking into making NEW harnesses. It's a lot of labor, the wire is cheap, and a lot of the connectors are proprietary and unobtainable new.

Even NOS gets brittle with age- The parts for the connectors I could source would put a new harness over a 600 bucks in parts. (replacing ALL connectors, both sides.)

I'm working on a complete new interior harness now for an early, and I'm over 200 bucks in connectors and parts costs. The late dash would be more- more connections and dramatically different..

I have a good one that I took off of a blown motor that I changed out for someone. All of the plugs are in good shape. It will be a LOT cheaper than 200
