Lightbulb FUEL LINE FITTING GB feeler........

I'd like to know if anyone else is interested in a group buy on steel PARKER compression to AN flare tubing fittings. This is the fitting that allows you to replace your crimped fuel hoses with -6 and -8 hoses of your choice (SS braid, firesleeved, etc). The compression fitting is mechanically superior to the common hose clamp install and allows the transition to be made down in the wheel fender.
The local PARKER distributor will be calling in the morning with pricing.
With a major ship builder and a massive Navy port here in San Diego, I can't believe these are so hard to find when the rest of the world runs metric.

I'm very interrestd in a much better fuel hose. Purchased a braided hose kit from a vendor on the list, resulted in a very poor connection.

Does it have the proper globe fitting and in metric? this has always been the issue on finding AN style fittings for these cars.

Proper term is hose ends or reusable hose ends. AN and metric are exclusive of each other.

Let me clarify, these are not hose ends. These are 8mm and 10mm adapters from the fuel hardlines to AN -6 and -8, respectively, male flares.
Once you have this adapter installed on the hard line, you can put any line you like.

Gerd--I'm not too impressed with the stuff available either, the main problem is this fitting. Porsche decided a recall was in order, and did a quick fix with a sleeve, they were considering motor fire liabilities. Considering MY investment in my car, I will spend a little extra.

Andy--I know, that's why I intend to keep my car from burning to the ground!!! I fought a p-car fire at of course, a gas station, with VERY limited resources and saved the car. Note: no extinguisher onboard.

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to Andy's post. AN isn't a "style" of fitting, it is a type of sizing for fitting. So, AN and metric are not interchangeable. By that I mean you aren't going to go out and buy metric AN fittings unless it is an adaptor that is metric on one side and AN on the other.

That said, you still need to get metric hose ends for the damper and possibly the regulator depending on what type you have. Look on page 4 of 5 of this pdf or just go to http://www.batinc.net/

http://64.202.180.37/files/ahosend.pdf

Edit: Obviously the hose size will still be AN though if you are going the reusable hose end route

Any place that sells custom hoses can sell you these parts for a few dollars. Look for places that build hydraulic hoses.

Michael,
Thanks for the links, but I have all the other parts ready to go. I'm using BAT for the 16x1.5 hose end.

You know that metal sleeve around the hose right where it meets the hose end or hard line? That is what holds those to the hose end fitting and it is roll crimped in place.
