Chris,
Come by and try my GTO with the blizzaks on it. 350HP for 04, 400HP for 05, Recaros, Blaupunct 200 watt. My only complaints are no memory seat, slow electric passenger seat (baby in back), and a small trunk, but it gets the job done. Jill's complaints are no butt warmers, or thermometer/compass.

pretty lame complaints for a car that goes like stink, and has the build quality of the finest european or asian cars.

Just last night, a silver STi tried to get me to race him on the highway. Guess he saw "Porsche" and figured it would be a challenge. Or at least that my pride wouldn't let him get away.
Rather than embarrass my '83 n/a, I just ignored him. My car has 10 times the "character" of an STi anyways. By that, I could mean repairs and quirks but I still love it.

Matt H-

I pay $380/mth minus tax on my 39mth lease on my WRX. Nothing down, 15K miles/yr. It was gonna cost me almost $900/mth if I bought it. I usually dont like financing longer than 3yrs.

Suby dealer told me same lease terms on an STI would run about $480/mth ($100 more). I assume a 3yr buy would be $1100+/mth easy.

Funny thing, today some REALLY hot chic in an RX300 gave me a "I like your car" at the gas station. Havent heard that in ANY of my cars in maybe 2yrs. I love the AWD but Ive pretty much decided when I turn it in Im going to walk away from another. Fun car, but damn near $400/mth is a lot of money I could do other things with and with a perfectly good 951, I think Ill drive that in the warm months, and pick up a cheap used Forester for the cold months. I can think of about 50 things Id like to do to the pcars.

Anybody have opinions on the Foresters? Ive seen some in the $4500 range floating around. About 100K miles. Good enough for me. Reliable? My WRX has been a workhorse. I ran over a big screen TV last summer in the road and only suffered a broken foglight.

Big envy on the STI though. Ive seen a few used ones in the $24,000 range. I hear good things on the Evo VIII as well. I dont think I could ever not have an AWD car again in the stable.

I mean Ill be fine as far as payments go and I dont think ill let the STI go, its on the top of its game and I think itll be hard in the next couple years to have something formidable against it. As for the 944, just changed the oil and cleaned the engine bay, found some pesky oil leaks, of course its the oil pan seal, just like I had thought, also replaced the gasket for the dipstick tube. My oil light still comes on and flashes, not sure if its just an electrical problem or its an oil problem, oil pressure is at regular pressures through all operating temps and rpms. Maybe its some electrical gremlins, I hope. Who knows, I just changed my brake lines to SS, now my brakes feel spongy, I bled the brakes twice any suggestions? Thx-chris

I have driven my friends EVO and I can say its a blast. I have not driven my other friends STI yet. From what I have heard from both guys is the STI has more torque and faster acceleration but the EVO's steering is nicer and the EVO goes through the corners better.

Oh if I had my choice between the $32000 STI, $36000 EVO MR, $30000 EVO or the $26000 EVO RS it would be the RS. No air, no radio, manual windows. All AWD turbo power!!!!!

I got my STI with no options, no sunroof, no heated seats either, nice and lightwieght, you can delete the radio but I think thats too much for me especially as a daily driver. Thought about an evo but I think the subie is more reliable, plus I get a better deal if I got back to a dealer where everyone knows my face.

WAIT A MINUTE....

You guys are telling me ..

You buy a car THEN make payments on it???

I was talking to a used car dealer (the one Patti bought her Concorde from) the other day, he wrote a 72 month note for a USED (2003) H2 for 1150 a month at 23% interest. YOU FIGGER IT OUT- 82,800 without interest.

Thats some serious jack.
