I saw that Pelican ad, it looks even better than the ad sounded. Nice Score for sure...

No please not speed yellow. Unless SY is done right it CAN come out hideous. I suggest a dark Porsche grey.

Great project.

The Color is still up in the air. A lot of sanding left to do first. I have also considered a Midnight Blue with Yellow Calipers and Yellow accents inside and under the Hood.

951 Calipers/pads

951 hubs and spindles

When I did it I basically replaced the whole FR suspension witha 951 one.

it would be interesting to see how much weight loss you've netted with the lightweight fenders and so on. keep us posted! you could really have a lightweight car if you were serious about losing weight - ie, lightweight seats, wheels, stripped interior, no radio, manual accessories, etc. etc.

I am keeping those seats and the interior will be restored because I plan on driving this one a lot.

Is the offset different on the 87 924s and the 951's?

do a search on offset, but briefly:

83-86 offset - 23mm
87+ offset - 52.3mm

Well there has been another change in my project. We were rebuilding an 86 951 when the owner decided to buy a 3.0 S2 motor complete and turbo it.

So now I have a turbo engine and computer, Along with all the wires. So now this light 924 will scream. I am going to replace the suspension and brakes too.

Oh and the engine,Turbo, computer ect. Are also free. So to date my total cost on this project is $0.00

I have heard that some of the turbo guys prefer to run the NA cam... Is this true? Since I have the NA motor I will just steal the cam out of her.
