Chris,

So all the noise was not the transmission, just the CV joints?

Kev, the CV's is a distinct noise, but it's hard to seperate different noises coming fom a similar spot while running. The clickety clacking was sporadic but it was loud, the whining not as loud.

- remove that noise (i.e fix the CV's) and the whining is more locatable. it's a friggin bearing. I've been freaking out for a month or 2, and pricing transmissions. Good thing I had'nt bought one yet. NOw with a single noise it's easier to pinpoint.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at diagnosing a drive train noise, especially when running.

I guess I'm a "worrier" as well. I psych my self out and think the worst, then I'm relieved when it's not.

Looks like another great gtg that I missed. I might just have to host one to make sure I make one. Jerry, I was at the wine tasting as well, what a great event. Great cars and great wines with great P-car people.

There it is. The Phrase that pays from the latest SOW GTG delivered by Rock.

Rock, after installing a "borrowed" AFM from Andy's parts closet..and a quick test drive, Andy asked Rock how it was running- Rock's response:

"My car runs like ****ty *****."

I damn near passed out I was laughing so hard.

Looked like fun guys!!!! Whats a CV Joint? Please post more pics!

With some help I actually got my seat bolts drilled out (after several "I hate you stupid bolts, you $*$&*#@&@&!) and put the first coat of paint on my calipers. My hands are all dirty. This blows. I like the progress though.

I thought wrenching and latex gloves was frowned upon? I was told thats like wiping yur pisser instead of shakin it off.
