Default Lowering the rear ride height.???

Hi Folks
Have any of you chaps ever lowered the rear ride height of a 944S2..????

Do you know how much it can be lowered on the spring plate excentrics.????

+ has anybody lowered a 944S2 by re-indexing the torsions.????

Im looking at fitting a set of KW suspension coil overs all round + have been told that the car will need to be re-indexed.....

PS , i do NOT want to remove the torsions all together......

Any info will be greatly apreciated........

Most of the time adding rear coilovers willl require you to re-index. There seem to have been a few cases where you could get by with just the 1/2" or so adjustment from the spring plate. The softer the rear coilover springs the greater chance that you might not need to index the t-bars.

Heres two sites on lowering the rear on the excentrics:

Paragon- http://www.tech-session.com/kb/index...x_v2&id=62&c=4

http://boerger.golden-tech.com/
Click on DIY Repairs then on Rear Ride Height Adjustment.

You can get 3/4 of an inch from the excentrics.

joe probably has as much experience with this as anybody from what i've seen, and jeff is right about the 3/4".

my comments - i have just finished reindexing my torsion bars after adding KLA rear coilovers shocks.

lowered the car by 3/4" using eccentrics
reindexed 12 clicks both outer and inner splines for total drop of about 2.75 - 3"
installed 275 lb rear springs and adjusted ride height to 25" from ground to wheelarch on both rear wheels.

good luck. i am still running the torsion bars and did not change the bushings (no flames, please)

oh yeah, one more link in case you decide to reindex the torsion bars:
