It's been working fine since October when I did the clutch. My son broke the top connector by not pulling the retaining clip off when he tried to disconnect it. Without the Ty-Wraps the car would stutter on bumps and stall out completely due to the bad connection. I'm still looking for a source for the connector to do it right. I made sure I had a ty-rap on each side pulling the two parts together and another pair to keep those from sliding off. It's not pretty but it's held up for now.

Nice setup , I dropped you a PM before I saw this thread, so Ill answer those questions here.. I dont need much wire at the end of the connector, just a few inches so I have a little room to splice it. The male side is the side that connects where you used the tie wraps. Closest to the drivers side. Thanks.

This Co. also show's the connector on their web site but only the female portion not the male. http://www.kayjayco.com/catPConnectors.htm

I guess another option may be replacing the connector with something else that is available. I have done some reading though and the shielding or connections were designed to prevent the connectors picking up any sort of interferance that may be created by the positive leads in the wiring harness running on the firewall.

I'll keep looking,

Michael

You won't find that particular male connector; I believe it's the type that is cast-molded around the wired pins. The female connectors can be rewired. I'm not sure I want another one anyway, it seems to be a thermo-set plastic that can't take the heat at all. I'm going to swap mine out with AMP weather-tight, mil. spec., metal twist-snap connectors. I can do both sensors, male and female for <$20. Gosh I'll sure miss pulling that stupid clip on the old one.

Jeff, your connectors went out 2-day UPS this morning.

Thank you so much, its much appreciated. Ill let you know when they arrive.

The reason I dont want to change the connectors is becuase if in the future I need a new sensor, It would require finding the new connector that you changed too, and cutting up the new sensor.. seems a little silly to me.
