Default CCW Wheel pics please

I'm thinking about a set of wheels from CCW. Probably their "Track" wheels since everything else is at leaset 19 inches. It would be great to see how these wheels look on our cars and up close. If anyone has pics of polished or clear anodized ones I'd love to see those too. Thanks

I have the polished lip/black anodized center track wheels so my pics wouldn't help you much. There's a guy here with the polished centers and has some pics in his sig...MD_758? or something.

Not a good picture on a dirty car but it's all I have for now. BTW The CCW's are a very good lite-weight wheel and John @ CCW is dead on in regards to the correct offset for the early 951.

Thanks guys

Skip, is that your car? Are the centers clear anodized or did they make them a little darker to get that silverish/greyish color? I really like it.

MPD47, I'd love to see better/bigger/color pics if you have them. If you can't host them anywhere PM me and I'll give you my e-mail addy.

2Tight, If you have any pics that show more detail I'd love to see them. I like the black centers, but I'm not too sure I want them for my car. They look great on the black.

Also, does anyone know if I'll run into any problems running the "track" wheels on the street? I always try to avoid potholes and that type of thing, but it's impossible to avaoid them all. Are these wheels more likely to get hurt from the abuse of every day driving?

No?

Track wheels are track wheels because they're stronger, wider and less pretty.

Kevin,
Here's some shots of the wheels on the car. I'm sure you already know this but just in case.

1. The track series will not accept centercaps (hubcentric); street series (lugcentric);
2. If you are buying these used, the very, very early CCW's were made with a beveled base rather than radiused requiring a non-Porsche lugnut.

I haven't had any problems with potholes or street damage but the wheels are very light so time will tell. Personally I like the "Industrial Strength" look of the capless centers myself.

Not the best shots but you get the idea.

looks very nice. I wonder how it would look if you polished your grease cap?

Glenn, I guess I was asking because on a track, while they have more and stronger forces acting on them, the road is generally smooth. On the street there are potholes and stuff, so I wasn't sure if the sudden jarring from hiting a pothole will be more than what the wheel is made for.

2Tight, I did not know that actually, thanks . When I talked to them on the phone they said that they would be able to machine them to fit centercaps, and that I should send my current set of caps in and they will use them on the wheels. If/when I actually end up buying them I'll of course make sure about this, since I'd like to have centercaps.

I'm thinking maybe your late offset must give CCW more rim past the cap to work with. CCW told me that the only way they could machine a cap for mine was to make them lug-centric and even then the center cap would have to clear the grease cap and axle nut in the rear. You can see in my early offset pics that I would also first need at least a 1/2" spacer ring added to the wheel to push the cap outboard a bit. Does your cap/axle nut protude as far as mine? I've always avoided lug-centric wheels after having high-speed balancing issues on my Miata.

I plan on getting the cap and axle nut zinc-plated or just paint them a low key shade of satin black. The polished centers would be a lot easier to keep clean because the edges of the web are relieved. The black centers have very sharp edges that snag on all my towels and the anodizing isn't sealed which makes any wax or polish from the rim hard to clean off. I'll go with bad boy black which I love on a black car. I do love the looks of Skips wheels with the lighter centers; I think they would pair up better with more paint colors.
