I am in Chicago but most of the cars I have seen very low have been Southern cars.

From what I've read Charlie arms have there own castor block attached, it just happens to look like the old school 944/968 castor joint setup.

Another picture here with all the relevant bits, "borrowed" from paragon parts site !

'Really good ones for 12K', the line starts over there, next to the really good 951's for 7 . . .

I don't see the price of $45k as being unreasonable. The Powerhaus turbo costs $25k and you still have to have a working vehicle and upgrade the sum of the other parts. This one has at least been tested and supposedly is proven to be able to perform properly.

This is a good toy for someone who has the money but doesn't want to invest the time and energy to get a unique and blazingly quick vehicle.

Something many are missing is that you never get the total sum of the parts you put into your "investment" back when you go to sell it. Even if it did cost 45k to build, you're never going to get that when you sell it.

430RWHP, or about 505 @ the crank using 15% driveline loss. The RWHP figure bests the FWHP of a 996 TT with the 450hp X50 package.
I tend to agree that it's probably well priced at ~35K, though 968 buyers at that level will be very scarce. Unless you have the money to burn, always buy someone else's project & let them absorb the depreciation.

Clearly there are many differing opinion on this car. What I wonder is how many of those questioning the $45k price truely understand exactly what they're looking at here. Just in the engine and motec management alone there could be about $30k. Oh, then there's $10k+ in suspension + labor. Who knows how much more in the custom interior, brakes, wheels, bodywork and paint. Then you need to provide the low mile 968 coupe 6spd with LSD to start.

To me this is an excellent start to the ultimate 968 street/track car and a reasonable deal $45k. $30k is crazy. Low mile M030 LSD coupes are advertised for $25k locally

To be perfect it still needs a Motec ADL, leather Recaros, Tarret sways, 18" BBS Mgs, and a rebuilt short gearbox. And some other stuff, but this is a good start. Another $25k or so.

What did the yellow "motec" 968 turbo that was in Excellence sell for? Its been traded around a few times right?

The seller wants more than $45K -- more like $51K. He posted over on 968.net earlier: 968.net thread.

At any rate, definitely not a car I would be interested in, but I'm sure it's the right car for someone out there somewhere....

To Luis de Prat and GOBOGIE

You are welcome! It's my pleasure. Thanks for the thanks.

The direction the thread took is unfortunate. I was hoping for a healthy discussion of the selected componentry in the car; instead, most everyone has been bashing and arguing about the $45,000 price tag.

While I doubt the seller will get this much for it, for the record, I would rather spend $45,000 on this car than I would on a new Boxster, 2003 Boxster S, 1999 996, or a even a 1996 993 Carrera 4, to quote just a few in the price range. Personally, I think this car is very tastefully done, and I quite like it.
