Your opinion on Kevlar / SS Brake Lines?

I really think we may be talking apples to elephants. Old school SS braided lines had some problems - back in the day. Now, SS lines are constructed in much the same way as OE except that they use higher quality hose, liner and give the additional rigidity and protection of not only the braided SS sheath but also the protective cover over that. I'll put in some calls to suppliers, but I think the basic construction is this: PTFE inner (Teflon, basically), Kevlar (req'd for DOT, maybe?), SS braid, Clear or colored outer protective skin (req'd for DOT). I'll try to get some real low down and post back.

I agree that the SS lines available today, that are DOT approved are reliable enough for street and track use. I also feel that they are just as long-lasting as stock lines, and just as safe. Hopefully the info you get will be to the same effect

I was told you should replace the ss lines every few years or so. I have ss lines and I will NEVER go back to stock. The ss lines are amazing. I love the way the feel.
