The PO painted the calipers on the 924S red, and I hate it. Making a non impressive looking caliper stand out would not have been on my list of things to do. I was planning on pulling the calipers off and spraying them in a dark silver / grey / black to give them a nice uniform facotry appearance, but other things got in the way.

So on your list I vote for black.

I'm going to power coat mine black. The '83 calipers don't look good enough to draw attention to them.

Good point, I was picturing the 4-piston calipers when thinking about his question. That reminds me I need to pull the brembos off my 944 to strip and paint them.

Yellows look fab in my opinion........

Hey, while we are on the subject, places such as Zim's Autotechnic sell caliper paint kits, but the problem is keeping/repainting the PORSCHE lettering.........would one need hands of a brain surgen for this?

Lettering is best left to the decal makers. You can find them on ebay, and many internet suppliers including www.porschedeclas.com if I am not mistaken.

My vote is for stock. If it came bare metal, leave it. If it came black, repaint it black.

I saw somebody paint his signle piston calipers on his camaro. They look way to small when painted. Just my opinion but as far as color is concerned. Silverwould blend with the wheels, red is overdone, yellow is rice. I'd so go black if you are going to paint.

Anyone care for orange? In my case it doesn't stand out too much. The phonies keep it rather understated.

I would pick red in most situations, but because your rims are black, IMO red looks bad directly on black, and yellow is a better highlight. On silver I like red better. Black looks good on silver, never seen dk blue before.

You could just clean up the calipers and paint them like this in the color of choice... IMO, cleaning and detailing makes a big difference in the look of these old cars.

If red's too "ricey" for the look you're after, black or silver would look nice.

Btw, Scott, love the wheels but how about cleaning up that tire!!

A can of VHT high temp spray paint works well... no idea about availability in Dubai.

Most designated caliper paint kits that I have seen are brush on laquer/enamel and are not the easiest things to work with. I did one set of calipers using this type and will not do it again.

I have found the a good quality High Temp Ceramic impegnated aerosol like Dupont, or VHT is easier, faster, better finish and a huge assortment of colors become available when you go this route. Media blast them, prime with high temp primer, paint color of choice and clear coat them if you want. New decals and off you go.
