Exclamation The sound of wind!

In my '86 porsche 944 I just recently put in a new radio. What good does it do when it is locked in the glovebox permanently? During the day I usually keep my radio in the glove box and take it out at night. Not anymore. The lock on my glovebox is broken. I go to unlock the thing and here a pop as I turn the key. Rather than taking a sledge hammer to it, I listen to the sound of the wind. Not to mention what would happen if I was to be pulled over...."Can I see your liscense and registration and proof of Insurance?"...."Well my glove box is jammed,....so no!"....Don't think that will go. Just thought I would share to story. I tried to get a locksmith to fix it and this is the response...."We don't work on exotic cars like porsches and hung up the phone!" I guess I will listen to the wind.

have you tried just pulling the lock? you will ruin it but you can pick up a new one for cheap at a salvage yard. it's all old plastic so it will pop right out. i'm not sure if there would be any box damage though.
