On ice, snow or in rain maybe. On dry asphalt (~1.0 friction coefficient) that would correspond to at least 488 RWTQ (see my post here ), but surely a little bragging doesn’t hurt.

I applaud your mathematical ability, but as the original author of the "2/3 throttle" post I invite you to take a ride with me.

Check with Predator, here on Rennlist. He has a 83 that started with the LT-1 conversion then upgraded to the LT-4 specs. I have spent some time with this car. It is done properly, and looks really great. It almost looks factory it is so wll done.

366lbs dry according to the manuals.

Trevor: off topic, but did you know that pieces of your old 968 is being sold off in the classifieds? What a shame....

Doug, when/if I am in your neck of the wood, I may just take you up on that.
Level dry clean asphalt, third gear, clutch engaged at 1000 rpm, floor the accelerator and then the wheels should slip sometime before redline.
If that happens, then I in return will applaud your mechanical skills.

PS With a heavier engine there will be less weight transfer, so maybe a true 420-450 WTQ is needed.

A 2.5L 944 engine is around 325lbs, including intake plumbing. This weight does not reflect the clutch, bellhousing, or radiator hoses. Still pretty light for as powerful as it is.

I would put a Ford mustang cobra R type engine if possible...the wau our cars are set up with the toquetube and all I would rather see the hp and torque moved up a bit in the rpm range ...especially since if I would do such a conversion, a supercharger or extensiveNA massaging with the ability of 8 k redline, would be wellcome. and fordd do have DOHC v8's wich weigh less than chevy.......if not what about a LS1 or LS4 or LS5?
PS would the front of the engine be right on the front crossmemer? like the 2.5? Ideally I would try to move it behind the crossmember.....if moved forward...like I suspect you would have to on the 350, yes you can try to use springs and shocks to make up ...but in a slide/drift...the ballance won't be as good by far as the 951's...fast though!!
