Why not get a DieHard or Interstate replacement. Around 50 to 70 bucks.
I'll probably buy an Interstate. I don't want to screw around with another Johnson Control battery like the Duralast that is in there now.

This problem is rather strange and you are the only one that had it arise. I'd make Johnson Control replace it. They know what they are doing and make so many brands.

Just tell them you had a Molex Military/Marine negative, part number 19218-0083. You have tried 2 of the Molex clamps out of different lots. It is the terminal post so tell Johnxon to go talk to the BCI or Molex if they want to.

You should get a free replacement battery out of his route.

Update:

I had a personal problem last week and her injury and taking care of her means a lot more than this cable build so slowed things down..

I managed to get out the international guys that had sent in final payment last week. A bunch of boxes go out Monday to the North America people that paid up. They are packed, in the truck and waiting to go in the morning.

I think I have everyone that has paid in full so far taken care of, but if not, let me know. This has been a bad week for me.

Send in the checks, wire transfers, PayPal, whatever. I'm sitting on a lot of people's deposits and want to conclude this. If you said you wanted in but didn't follow up and send in a deposit you are $hit Out of Luck, for now. I've got some more parts for a few battery kits on hand but I'm not going to build them until September.

Regards,

DWW

Edit: Oh, after reading this, it was a car accident. So you don't think I beat her up or something.

Doug, The total base package came to $290. If you also want the positive clamp boot add another $2. Plus $15 shipping in lower 48 USA. Your net due after the $100 deposit would be $207. Or $205 if you don't want the boot. May as well get the boot, it was a good idea from one of the members. Include your day phone number with the PayPal for the shipping manifest.

jaje, you are $207 as I know you wanted the boot. You have an '84 NA. Did you ever tell me if you have the stud type firewall cable ties or the button type? I don't have that written down on your order.

I have a few more hours before running off to the FedEx station and post office so I can pack up some more kits and get them off today.

Devon,

Thanks about the concern. Everything seems pretty good and getting better.

The supplemental is now $22. You can get one added to your order. No difference in shipping cost.

Brian, On the special stud cable ties you are getting 4 in the package already. (5 for 968 owners). You want another 15? And make the shipping $28. The USPS went and upped rates on your configuration to Canada to $21.75 and I need a few extra bucks to cover box, packing peanuts, tape, customs forms, etc. I think I'm making around 25 cents an hour on packing labor.

If you clear up the cable tie issue and get the PayPal off to me in the next hour I'll pack your box and send it with the rest today.

Jeez, USPS upped the rates again to Canada! Just cost $22.25 for Alan Becker. Someone must be slipping rocks into the box and this is driving me crazy!

i looked at the cable ties on my car...they are a smooth lip connecting them with a cable tie that looks like you cut it to remove the harness and easily replace them with just a new cable tie...so I think its the button type (it's an 84 n/a model)

I'll paypal you $207 tonight...thanks for all you've done!
