Thumbs up FYI: Shipped a torque tube with UPS

Just thought I'd post this.
I sold a torque tube to a fellow Rennlister and attempted to ship it via UPS.

I used an empty wire spool to protect the exposed shaft on the motor side. I bolted it to the end with (4) 7/16" nuts and bolts. I then wraped the entire thing in some felt carpet pad I had lying around. After that it got shrink wrapped BIG TIME.
The results.............made it safe and sound half way across the USA for around $90. It weighed around 70lbs and got bumped into oversized 3, and got charged an extra $10 for a out of box handling fee.
Cheers,
Jason

hmmmmm, I have a torque tube on my 170k mile parts car, is it worth saving to ship, or trashing?
$90 is probably about how much you sold it for correct?

That's amazingly cheap for UPS. That's also amazingly cheap for a torque tube. I wonder how much the dealer wants for one? Or one of the Porsche salvage yards, for that matter?
