Default 1989 Turbo FS In E-Bay - Looks Like A Steal

E-Bay Ad

Just fartin' around on e-bay this AM. Looks like a very very nice deal, 62K miles on her. Reserve isn't met yet, but only has 4 hours left on it. Only bad side is that the seller is selling it for a friend who is in FL right now and the car is locked up in NJ. Sounds a little wierd but if it checks out... could be a deal!

I'm personally not too fond of the color, but I'm sure it looks better in person!

Default Nice!

Price is way up there, but that looks like a killer Turbo! Great color, and very low miles.

Do you know the reserve? It's at 11,6K now and we know they can skyrocket the last hour but if it stays close... that's still cheap!

Andy - do you know some inside info here???

No inside info--just my opinion! Are '89 Turbos going for over $12k?

Yeah, you could say that. Of course you can always find ones that have been molested and that are in not so perfect shape for 12K or less, but if you want a nice example they pretty much start at 14K and can go very high after that. I read in one of the latest Excellence's that an '89 with like 32K went for $22K. My guess it that we will continue to see the price of the '88 Turbo S and the '89 turbo continue to gain in the days to come!

It's all about mileage and condition (originality of these cars and especially the turbo "S" spec cars '88/'89)

I guess for a car that sold at over $50k when new, $13k isn't that unreasonable, especially for one in great shape.

How do you like yours, Cory?

i don't think sport seats were standard...i don't have them - but LSD was i THINK. mine has it.

as for the prices - i might have overpaid a little bit for mine 4 years (nearly 5) ago...but i don't feel like it. $18k for an 89 with +/- 85k miles that had exactly the mods that i would have done to it had i found a stock one. it was turn-key. no messing around. in the color combo i wanted.....i have done only minor mods (iceshark lighting, test pipe, euro fogs, etc...)

Actually guys, it's at $14655; reserve not met. Probably going for a solid $15,500. Nice car, though...

I figured that it would sky rocket prior to closing. $15,500 is still a good deal, just not a killer deal which is what everybody wants ;-) This one has at least one mod (boost controller) if not more which will detract those willing to pay those high dollars that everybody thinks there car is worth. If this car hadn't been mod'd who knows how much more?

I think I started a bad trend of stealing these cars from the right buyer.

As those that have been around for a while will remember, I drove to Colorado and paid $14K and it had 64K miles on it, all original except C2 rims. Paint and interior are 9/10 if not better. The guy had 2 businesses that were not doing well and needed to dump it fast. I got lucky!!! It's an easy $18K(+) car as many will attest to from the photos of it that I've posted over the last 2.5 years of my ownership.

Being a CA car it should be in great shape and without years of east coast road slop. With those miles it will probably go for 16.8K. Looks solid.
