With a 1.25" spacer - are the studs long enough? I was running a 1/4 spacer on the front of my 944 so my new wheels would chear the center hub - there was not much left for thread length to the point where my mechanic (who sold me the weels) was actually nervous about me using them.

I'm 99% sure you have to get new longer studs when using spacers on an early offset car to fit late offset wheels.

This is why I bought a set of ADAPTORS instead. I have 1.5" in front and 2" in back. The D90's on my 86 sit as far out as they possibly can without rubbing and I get to keep my early offset if I want to mount my fuchs.

if you get open ended lugnuts with spacers, you can easily swap the spacers on and off and still use early offset wheels too. looks a litle ghetto, but that is all subjective anyways..

Didn't Ian buy that black 951 from Derek Foo? If so, then it had my old Kahn wheels on it which look a little like the Moda's.


EDIT- I noticed on the Highline Wheels website that they have a 16" and a 17" Fuchs wheel with a late offset. Interesting...

regarding the Fuchs: I think all thier wheels are replica wheels.. wonder how much they weigh!

Oops, Darren Foo. Yep, that's who I bought them from.

I'm thinking that those Fuchs replicas probably don't weigh any more than any other 17" replica but I'm sure they aren't as strong as original Fuchs. Still, they might be worth checking into.

Maciek, I would guess just the wheels weigh around 30lbs each which isn't terribly bad for a 18"er. They're not the lightest wheels on the planet by any means, if weight is your #1 priority I would look else where like Kinesis, SSR, etc..

Of course, Dan, you know how much I like your car, and I would be all over these if I hadn't decided to keep my polished Club Sport wheels.

Of course, Pete sold his wheels first, so I would have probably been all over them too...........
