Tired of dings, WTB thread. Parters please post.
I kept putting it off because of my money situation. But I really need to put a new passenger rear quarter on the car . If anyone has one near the York (Just below Harrisburg) Pennsylvania area that I would be able to pick up, great, otherwise please post your prices and shipping costs to 17366.TIA for all your help, I'm just tired of the little dings and dents on my passenger rear quarter.

Dings and dents can't be so bad that some bondo won't work.

I don't want to putty it...The body shop I talked to said to replace it, I used a hammer and mallet trying to get out the creases...the panel has very few dents in it now, but the big crease is still there.

If I can get a good conditioned rear quarter (Little-no dings/dents), shouldn't they be able to weld it on for me? What puttying would have to be done? Isn't it as easy as chopping off the old one and putting the new one on using all the old welds?

Putting a new quarter panel on isn't as easy as you think, theres a lot of work to it.
I would seriously consider checking out a number of body shops, not just one.
Replacing it would be like buying a new house because your old one is dirty.

But joking aside, are there any body specialists on here that could explain to me the procedures that are needed to put on a new quarter?

Remove half of interior. Cut off old quarter at the roof, tail light, and rear of the door. Support car so it doesn't fall apart while 1/8 of it is removed. Replace with new panel, being sure to line everything up perfectly so that hatch opening, door opening, etc. are exactly as factory. Repaint half of car (at least). Hope customer doesn't get into a big accident, as car is no longer as strong as it once was.
Seriously, I have a guy that in Birdsboro, PA who fixed a significant dent in my quarterpanel. It can be done, but it takes some skill. Most bodyshops would rather just weld in a new panel, because they know exactly how long it will take and how it will come out. This isn't necessarily the best solution for you, but it makes sense for them.

Fix it man, don't replace it, that's a whole other can-o-worms. The car is all sealed up for rust from the factory, you mess with that and it'll never be as good as new. Fitment is a mess and WILL have body filler in it. It may not turn out exact, leaving a mis fitted pannel or just not look "right". Unless it's trashed, fix it man. Good Luck

These guys are correct. There is a quarter panel that comes up on eBay often. It goes from under the front of the door, along the lower longitudinal frame, up to the roof seam behind and to the rear of the door then clear back to the seam above the rear tail light. Not an easy job. Try some other shops.
