At least the coronary he probably had when he realized he'd backed into a Porsche would PARTIALLY make it worthwhile. Not really, but I'd take some sadistic pleasure in that. . .

The neighbor seems like a nice man though I don't know him very well and harbor no ill feelings. I am just frustrated I have to push 3 non running cars for street cleaning twice a week now with my garage not operational yet. I got another piece of glass (not working but in there) in the car since I have about 7 spare driver side glass. Just one of those very frustrating days. By the way, that squirt gun won't penetrate both quarter panels of a 77 camaro like my old friends (had them for 15 years)

Don't get me wrong, I HAVE NO ILL FEELINGS TOWARDS THE MAN. I just posted the pictures because Jeff posted his Its not something you want to carry considering both are over 14 inches long from end to end. In fact, the ruger comes with SCOPE MOUNTS because some people hunt with those.

Lego,
That does suck but A) you were not behind that door, B) you busted the bastard (I'd use that description no matter who it was!), and C) it's pretty mucha plug and play fix.

George,
A woman cutting accross three lanes of traffic on short notice is NOT an accident!

Lastly....Nice hardware boys!!!! I'm more of a long gunner, my tricks are stored out of state tho. BTW, what good is a "cooling off" period if you already have a couple????

All in good fun.

OT: Legoland, I've heard about how you have nicknames for being the "944 God," and how you have had 944s' lined all up and down your street... Would you by any chance happen to have a picture of that?!?! That would be hilarious to see.

Actually I don't drive my cars fast around the neighborhood and fear for the kids who live in the area because of some of these speeders. Ibkevin, I purposely don't park all of them in a row because I mix my vans, BMW, Renault with the 944s trying to keep a low profile (its not working very well since I have 9 pcars). My cars have been the objects of vandalism probably because some neighbor don't believe I have the right to park my cars on the street even though I pay thousand+ a year in registration to legally be able to park them on public highways.

No way the old man gets a pass just because hes old. Being old doesnt entitle you to back into someones rig without getting your skull gnawed off. You can still be a gentleman and call him Mr Jackass, but thats as nice as you should be.

Old farts and teenyboppers need to have their licenses revoked. My dads parents drove until well into their mid 80s. From Ohio all the way to Florida. Absolutely unsafe senile fossils who needed to learn to start taking taxis. Ran over bushes in the KFC drive through once. On and on.

If hes got a nice looking granddaughter though, forget everything I said.

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, and am surprised the ol' man hit your door handle so well in its middle. Well, maybe when replacing the door you can upgrade to 968 door handles and mirrors.

Regarding the color - go to the best shop in town to get the best match, or buy a used door from a car of similar vincity. In fact, I like the idea of used doors - because they have the paint in the same places and quality as the original door. And since the body parts are galvanized, rust should not be an issue.

Sorry to see that.

The silver lining in this incident is the fact that only the door was whacked, which is a bolt on part that has a good break for paint matching purposes. If it was the quarter panel just behind it, now that would really suck.

Yep, we all make mistakes. I'm certain the elderly gentleman feels bad enough that it happened. Its got to be embarrassing for him because he lives near you, it's not like he hit some stranger's car in a parking lot somewhere.....

It was stupid, but hitting me was certainly not on purpose. In the end, it's just a car.
