Ok :P Reading the other responses I thought we were just talking about a DME not a whole car.
Chips in n/as can make it feel different, won't really make much of a hp/tq increase - usually somewhere in the neighborhood of 5hp or so.

It is not nearly as fast as my chipped 5000 turbo quattro but the P-car is a very well balanced car. Just was not sure if that was a feasable thing cus in the Audi world I could not put a different ECU from a later model Audi and not sure what would the benifits would be with a 86' ecu put into a 84' 944 n/a w/chip installed.
thanks

I converted my first 944 (an '84) over using an '86 DME and AFM. Pretty much plug and play.
I ran that car with an Autothority chip and I did notice that the car perfromed better. However, I also learned that installing a test pipe (or running with a gutted CAT) steals some low end torque.
