best way to remove 18 yr old pinstripe???

Hi.
Any one done this??
I have not started..but i assume:
heat...hair dryer
alcohol..or goo gone
sharp finger nails
Please let me know of any "tricks"

lots and lots of finger nails... as the above writer said, heat wont help... there is practically no real adhesive left under the stripes. I would not suggest any type of tool... I used my finger nails till they were practically gone, then tryed a soft putty knife... my first press made a scratch. Then I called my wife down to use her talons.
Googone will work on whats left after the stripe is gone. if its as bad as mine, it will take between 2-3 hours to get it all of because it will come off in 5mm pieces...
