Default couple quick questions for ya'll

I have an 86 944, starts and runs but the power steering pump bracket is broken... I'm considering fixing and using this for a daily driver.. how involved is this repair, also, should I be concerned about doing a timing belt immediatly (big deal on the 928)...
if anyone in my area would be willing to assist in getting this car back on the road I have a couple donor cars I''ll give you parts off for your time/trouble

thanks

1) Plan on spending about 3 hours to replace the power steering pump bracket (it is also the housing for the lower balance shaft seal and bearing).

2) In order to replace the bracket, you will have to remove all of the belts, including the timing belt and the balance shaft belt. You should replace them at this time, and plan on retensioning them at 1500 miles, 15000 miles, and replace them again at 30000 miles.

If I come out there, fix it for you can I have a 928?

George is correct. If the "ears" have broken on the PS mount, you'll have to replace the entire bracket.

Belts are just as critical on the 944 engine as the 928.

here is the broken part, I'd like to fix this car, I went thru paperwork on all my pcars last nite, this one is a one owner NC car, given to ACS as a donation and we got it from them... it's not in bad shape, just needs this fixed and some tlc...
Chris, if you want a 928 you can make a track car out of I'll def be willing to consider a swap.. I have an 82 that engine caught fire and FLA gave it a COD I can't get a street drivable title here in NC

Yep- replace the entire bracket, looks like the PS pump case is bad as well, replace it. or convert to manual steering. George probably has the part.

Looks like it took a hit for the aluminum to shear like that.

And.. Dont tempt me with "Shark Talk".. I'll bite!
