I have thought about driving the car back home. About 5 hours but the belts only have 200 miles on them so I am kinda scared. I know that if the tension was not not right and the belt slips I am in for a rebuild. Would you guys trust a new belt job to run 5 hours or should I tow it back.

The problem is that I have to tow a bike to the guy and pick up the 944. However the only way I could put the bike on a car trailer is strap a board to the center rails of the trailer. Hmmmmm If it was warmer I would ride the bike but the hell with all that.

You gotta have faith. If you are destined to throw a belt I don't see what difference it makes whether it is one 200 mile trip or twenty 10 mile trips. If it makes you feel better pull the cover and inspect before you leave. Inspect belt tension, alignment and make sure all the rollers are torqued properly.

Okay what the hell...... I am going to trailer the bike up and drive the 944 back... Like you said I got to have faith.. I will check the belt tension when I get back.... Worse case senerio is I need new belsts and valves. But I have a Porsche mechanic that will do the work for free and teach me how to work on the P cars. Since I am helping him rebuild a 951 now anyway......
