Default TSW Wheels - Any Good

Looking for wheels to put snows on for the goat, and found a place selling TSW wheels.

Anyone ever hear of them or have any experience with them.

A buddy of mine bought Moda wheels from Tire Rack a few years ago. When one cracked six months later he had to throw the other three out because they didnt stock them any more. dont want to be in that situation.

What to you know about TSW wheels? TIA

I've heard of them, and people seem to be happy with them.

But I'm not an expert or anything...

Most of the TSW wheels you see on ebay are old stock. Good quailty wheel product, was very expensive at the beginning of the tuner craze.

I have had three sets and only had one wheel crack but I give that to the RR track and speed, not the wheel. FWIW, I had a set of MOMO wheels that bent if you looked at them funny (seriously, I was having them repaired so often I probably could have bought three sets). I never had that problem with TSW. The Evo (the first pic) is a fairly LW wheel as well.

TSW is still in business but it looks like these guys bought out one of the NA suppliers when they stopped carrying them. I would have no problems using them (the wheels, never bought from the seller but I might for the BMW).

Thanks.

If a deal on ebay for bmw rims with dunlop self sealing snows doesnt go my way I may just get the EVOs and stop jerking around. there are some nice sets on ebay like this other set.

I'm very wary of cheap aftermarket wheels. I'm just about ready to throw out the three 993 replicas I have on my car now and stick the fuchs back on. One of them bent irreperably after hitting a small pothole. The tire didn't even split, but the wheel is about 2" out of round. Another of the front wheels is visably bent (when rolling) and has been for some time, but I never remember hitting anything that would cause that...maybe it was like that from the factory. One of the rear wheels requires like 6 or 7 grams of counter weights to balance it, and it still shakes. I am not buying cheap wheels again...it was a waste of $1000 that could have been put towards a quality set. I would see the only thing these could be useful for would be some blinging snow wheels.

I never had any problems with my fuchs, except I wore all the rubber off of the tires and wanted to go for some bling. Now I want to get new rubber and put the old wheels back on. The 993 replicas would probably make nice coffee table legs with glass stretched between them.

Ribs,
These are for snow tires for the new goat. I agree about aftermarket rims. thats why i asked if people had experience with this brand. I would stay away from moda after my buddies experience with them. I would buy ROH after my brothers experience with them and his 944.

he cracked a ROH in manhattan or queens after going through a yugo swallowing pothole. How he only cracked one rim he still doesnt know.

If matt says TSW rims hold up I believe it.

The M3 is similar to the offset (if not the same) as all 3 series, somewhere in the high 40s low 50s. Info can certainly be found on www.bimmerforums.com .

I had some for track wheels a while back and liked them. They are not light but for snows you don't care about that. These are not cheapo wheels (even though you can find discontinued and overstock ones cheap); they are TUV approved (German transport ministry) and pretty well made. and the E36 (1995-99) M3 wheels are 41 mm offset I believe.

Reassuring to read TSWs are still decent since I just ordered a set about 3 hours ago for my Civic.
