Default Chip help...

Im following a how-to that I found on this site to replace the chip in my 87 944s.
I am as far as popping the rear lock towers, but I CANNOT find or get the front of the upper board to release from the are where the harness plugs in... Does anyone have a better how-to or any idea where to lookf for the other release tabs...
Thanks a bunch,
Terry

OK, I have the boards apart... NOW there appears to be a cover over the chip... does the whole cover come off? I am really sorry for being so needy here, but NONE of the instructions are very clear... I wish i had my digi-cam with me I would do this step by step for everyone who is as green to this as I am...
Any help appreciated!

Well, this could be different on the S, but I've chip'ed three NAs and one turbo. None of them had a cover over the chip. Are you sure you are looking in the right place? You should easily spot a chip identical to the one you've bought.
What does the cover look like?

Ok, all is back together and working fine... It is still raining so I didnt get to agressive with the test drive, but I can say their is a definate difference in the power curve. I feel alot more RIGHT NOW power, and a steadier increase to higher rpm's.
I also notice the difference in downshifting, there is no more lack of power at the higher rpm's.
I used a G-Tech Pro to check hp and torque last week (stock) and will do again tomorrow and report any differences.
