Default Invinca Shield kit for 944/951

This is prolly a repost, but I havent seen it mentioned that I can remember, and with lots of nicely repainted cars around...

944 N/A Kit

951/S2 Kit

For those who dont know about it, Invinca Shield makes a clear plastic stick on "bra". Its a clear, UV resistant (non yellowing) 0.8MM plastic film that sticks on and acts like a bra. It can be removed with no paint damage as well.

So for all those who have shelled out for new paint jobs... Heads up The delux kit for either series of car is about $250USD, and includes bits for the mirrors, replacements for the stock bits near the wheels, etc.

How hard are these to install. Is it something you do yourself or does a shop have to do it? Any drawbacks to using this product? I just had my car repainted so I would be very interested. Thanks

I would think you just slap it on there. It's 3M isn't it? Like the stone guards?

Prolly the same as doing stoneguards, just bigger. The trick for those is to get soapy water in a spray bottle, spray the whole area, put the sticky panel on, position it, then squeegie the water/soap out from under it carefully, then it sticks.

On the site they say they will help you find a qualified shop that does it in your area, so theres that route too.

Is it as noticable as the stoneguards though? I want some extra protection but not if it will make the front look like it is covered in a big sticker. I think the stoneguards are too obvious and look bad on the car.

i think with these kits that you can hardly tell they're there. my friend's m3 has this stuff on it and you can't really tell unless you inspect with your face next to it.

Most companies on the market today uses 3m due to name branding, but that is not to say it's the better product. Our main line of film is Venture. The film comes w/ a lifetime warranty while 3m only covers 5 yrs. The film does not exhibit orange peel as 3m does, which is why the film is more noticeable on darker colored vehicles.

Here are some pics of cars we wrap on a daily basis:

Stupid question, but in any of those pictures, are the edges of the plastic shown?
If so, then I am amazed, and may order up a kit right now!

I've seen something similar on a lot of new mazda's and such, and it's almost invisible unless you park right beside it.

I'm considering this for my 951, the whole front end has maybe 5 rock chips right now, I would like to keep it that way.

Yes, the edges are there...........Venture's film is again, the clearest film on the market. It's more expensive than 3m for the total installation package because the film is slightly tougher to work with just because it is so clear. Some installers believe their film is easier to install because of its elasticity, but that's only because they're not very experienced with excellent work.......because the film is so clear, over-stretching it or installing it improperly will create "dimple" marks. We strive to perfect every install so this does not occur on any film..........basically, Venture's film does not hide any flaws due to its clarity.

We do sell it at the retail level, but highly recommend this film being professionally installed due to the difficulty of creating a near perfect install.

I have seen this stuff installed and it really is nice. I would definitely spring the extra cash to have a pro install it tho... I have seen two non pro installs and both looked bad.

Regards,

What is the cost of the venture film?
I hardly ever let somebody else touch my cars, so I think I would install it myself, and take the risk.

Unfortunately, there aren't any software providers that have the 87 951s computer generated templates. If you're going to do this, it will have to be custom cut....I'll pm you pricing for the raw material.
