Default Weltmeister Torsion bar bushing ????'s

Anyone using them with problems, noise, reliability? Planning on thicker Tbars in the back so will do the bushings too. i track my car occasionally at Drivers ed so reliability is important. Can I just apply grease in some manner at times if they are noisy?

i suggest talking to chuck moreland. do a search for elephant racing bushings. more expensive than weltmeisters, but all the probs you have talked about will be addressed by them (also they have a zirc fitting for grease.. infact they are actualy a poly-bronze bearing not a bushing).

Yeah, I know about the poly bronze. looks nice. wondering about the Welts though. I'm adding up all of my suspension upgrade budget and it adding up.

I don't know how noisy they are but i do know there is no way to grease them after they are installed without taking the whole assembly apart.

Why can't I grease them after they are installed just like the elephant ones if I put in some grease fittings like here:

here it is installed:

I've heard the Welts get noisy after a while. The grease fitting might work though, but I don't have any experience with it. I ended up going with the Delrin bushings from Paragon and they work nicely with no noise yet after a few thousand miles of street and track driving. They're more expensive than the Welts, but cheaper than Polybronze and probably just as good. Some people said they had fitment issues with them, but if you do a search for when I did the torsion bar job (with pics), I think we came up with a method to minimize that problem that at least worked well on my car. We haven't done them on a second car yet. I'm very happy with them so far.

You could drill and tap the piece for grease fittings but I'm not sure how effectively it would quiet the squeeks (if there are any). The lube I used on these when I installed them was really sticky kind of like a thick honey so I don't know if another petroleum based grease would be bad for the bushings.

Yeah, that's what I used during installation. I'm not sure how you would use that once the bushings are installed even with a grease fitting though.

Like I said before, it is reallllly sticky like honey and stiff like putty. On top of that I don't know how you'd get it in a grease gun.

I have these bushings and the car squeaks. Curious how to grease them without taking anything apart? If I replaced these bushings with elephant racing bushings, how much is the labor? (previous owner installed Weltmeister bushings before elephant racing came out with bushings) Or better yet, is there a how-to writeup?

The ER poly's have a groove to accept grease as it's pumped into the fitting.

The Welts and Delrin's have no such groove, and the fit is extremely snug (at least with the Delrin's I know it is). If you installed a grease fitting, would the grease have anywhere to go? I have the RE Delrin bushings, and can't imagine grease being able to be pumped around the bushings due to the tight fit.
