Should be able to make your money back. Let me know and I will come up and part it for you. I have off from the 24th to the 4th of January. From what appears to be useable we could part most of it in a day. BTW - I need a cheap set of seats and rails.

I agree with Todd, that engine is probably damaged. The torque tube definetly took a good whack, which could have in turn caused evil-doings to the transmission.

If you are buying it with the main reason being that you want this car to be your ticket to a 951 drivetrain for your 84, I would definetly pass.

All that being said, whatever happened: that car took it like a man. Let's all take a moment of silence.

Steering wheel's actual condition isn't all that important to me. Blown bag and all. I just need a usable wheel while I have mine recovered. After that maybe I'll rent it out to others and get back my investment.

The car is at 150$ now and Im still the high bidder...I have decided I wont go higher then 300$ for the car...If it goes for more, no worrys there is another one in 2 weeks, and this one is hit in the rear, so it will go for ALOT more....Probably around 1500$ for that one....

There was also that 951 in FdL with the Kolkein front end - I don't believe it ever made reserve on eBay, which was $1500.
Rennlist Thread You might try getting ahold of him if you want to go that high.

You can bend a steering wheel pretty easy with just your hands and adrenaline when in a crash. I know this first hand. So if this buy pulls off that is another item to be careful about.

DAmian,

I could use the rear wiper motor and arm if no one has made a call on it yet. Funny I am looking at the photos thinking that with a beating like that car had taken it still has it in it to struggle like it does on it's way to the grave(skid/drag marks in the dirt lot)

MIchael...Even if I dont get the car, I do indeed have a rear wiper motor assembly to sell you...I took mine off and never plan on using it again...You have been added to the list...

Group buy in case it goes for more than 300? I mean there is probably 1000 worth of sales so far right?

I would say take it.
Remember, the KLR, DME alone should fetch what you pay for it.
Pull the head from the motor, sell the bottom end (that is, if the motor is damaged), take a look at the turbo, etc.
The whole interior looks _alright_, not great, but it will fetch a bit of money, sunroof, etc.
Definately a good investment!

Its at 250 now....I am going to wait to bid until noon....So 25$ increments, I will bid up to about 350, because then there is about 230$ in auction fees...I wont spend 1000$ on this one, as another one will come along soon im sure during this fine Wisconsin winter....Maybe in better shape, as this is one of the worst ones I have seen go up for auction rather then just going to the cube making machine...The freakin roof is kinked...! I just got a hold of some more pics from my brother and it looks worse then I thought...

Have you by chance made a list of ALL of the things that you could sell off the car based on current listings on let's say, ebay? I currently have a POS '83 that I picked up for 600 and thought about parting it out, my tally was surpassing 2K when I stopped, so I decided to keep it. I think that it might help to make a list, if for anything just to see what people could come up with.
