I would like to replace a steering wheel on my 1987 944T. I know of an avaliable 968 steering wheel and was wondering if this will fit my 944T. Do I need any adapters or special parts for it to fit?

Do you mean the 968CS wheel? Otherwise, they use the same wheel. I think you'll have a hard time find a second hand CS wheel.

They can be bought for new from a few different vendors (AJUSA, etc) and would probably have better luck there.

Regular 968 wheels have airbags, I don't know how you'd adapt that.

I believe its a straight swap if your car is non air bag. But most decent specialists should know for sure.

I am not referring to a CS wheel. I wish to put a stock 968 wheel on a 1987 944T. Do I need any special hardware or is it a straight switch?

stock 968 steering wheel w/ airbag is exactly the same as the 87-91 944 steering wheel w/ airbag.

Yhat's what I was alluding too. Unless you just want a newer wheel that's in better condition.

Also, you can have yours recovered......
